FAQ about Cognito MNP
Cognito® Instant MNP is used in the prevention and management of malnutrition. These symptoms of malnutrition manifest as a weakened immune system, stunted growth, and mental imbalance (slow learning) which, in extreme cases could lead to death. Cognito® Instant MNP was developed to fight Vitamin A deficiency, Anemia, Zinc, and Iron as well as other micronutrient deficiencies, especially in vulnerable groups.
The primary target for Cognito® Instant MNP is children between 6 months to 59 months (6 months – 5 years) after the successful completion of 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding. Pregnant women, lactating mothers and other family members can also gain much-needed nutritional value from Cognito® Instant MNP.®
A sachet of Cognito® Instant MNP is sprinkled directly into the portion/dish for a child, mixed properly, and then served to eat.
Cognito® Instant MNP is not a drug; it is part of your daily food component. It makes up for vitamins and minerals lacking in our everyday staple foods which is why it is added directly to ready-to-eat meals (point of use).
It is not advisable to add Cognito® Instant MNP in the general bowl of soup for the whole family but rather, it should be added to the food served per child as the nutrients in Cognito® Instant MNP 1 gram sachet is sufficient for one child only.
Also, Cognito® Instant MNP should not be added while cooking. It should also not be added to very hot meals as vitamins and minerals are unstable at high temperatures

We recommend Cognito® Instant MNP as the nutrients stored in the powder complement the nutrients we get in our everyday meals. It is sufficient to prevent and manage micronutrient deficiencies in children.
Adults can take Cognito® Instant MNP (2 sachets) to compensate for their larger body weight and higher RNI.
Meals to which Cognito® Instant MNP have been added must be finished at a sitting. To make it easier, separate a portion of the served meal that can be consumed immediately, then add Cognito® Instant MNP, stir and eat before continuing with the remaining portion.
