Our Journey
Pioneering Local Production
2012
We became the first indigenous producer of micronutrient powder (MNP) in Nigeria and Africa, achieving ISO certification. Our export potential extended to ECOWAS regions, with our first export successfully reaching the Songhai Development Centre in Port Novo.
2013
Our pioneering efforts in the local development, design, and production of micronutrient powder were recognised with the issuance of a patent. The Benue State government purchased 10 million sachets of MNP (valued at N250 million) to support the malnourished population within the state.
2014
GAIN supported a platform for behavioural change communication (BCC) and social marketing. GAIN purchased an additional 3 million sachets (valued at N75 million) of MNP to complete the distribution to the population at risk of acute micronutrient deficiencies in Benue State.
Expanding Reach and Impact
2015-2016
Two million sachets (valued at N50 million) of MNP were produced for various clients, including NGOs, OXFAM, and several state government initiatives. 2017A total of 5.55 million sachets of MNP (valued at N138.75 million) were produced under licence and delivered to the State Ministry of Health in Maiduguri, Borno State, courtesy of the Federal Ministry of Health

Micronutrient Laboratories, Ltd. was formally founded by a world-renowned expert and patent holder with over 30 years of industry experience in micronutrient formulation, design, and production.

2012
Our COGNITO Micronutrient Powder (MNP) is reliably and efficiently impacting lives, having helped over 350,000 children to date. We’ve distributed more than 6 million sachets (2,000 cartons) to Nigerian states where the need to combat malnutrition is most urgent.
We’ve witnessed remarkable transformations: Children who once couldn’t stand on their own found their feet and walked. Those with delayed speech began to form words and connect with the world around them. Even those who had lost all interest in food slowly regained their appetite and strength. One by one, they began to thrive, overcoming challenges that once seemed impossible.
